NRECA submitted comments to the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee (BDAC) on its Draft Model State Code. Collectively, electric utilities own 65-70 percent of all poles nationally and our infrastructure plays a vital role in the deployment of broadband. The final model codes adopted by the BDAC could have a profound impact on the electric industry - making it imperative that the BDAC adopt a balanced and consensus driven model state code.
