On September 26, 2022, NRECA, along with the American Public Power Association (APPA), Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the Enterprise Wireless Alliance, and the Utilities Technology Council (UTC) urged the FCC to utilize the 15,500 Wi-Fi 6E access points using the 6 GHz band implemented by the University of Michigan in its campus wide upgrade to perform real-world measurements of Wi-Fi 6E. This will better allow the FCC to resolve ongoing disputes between licensed incumbents and unlicensed proponents about the proper parameters for Wi-Fi 6E to be used for modeling interference.
