On April 11, NRECA filed comments with the FCC in response to their Public Notice seeking input on “alleviating unnecessary regulatory burdens” on the companies it regulates across all industries to unleash companies to innovate, invest, and expand. In our comments, NRECA outlined several onerous or outdated regulations that are of dubious benefit but add to the regulatory burdens of ISPs, especially small businesses such as cooperatives. The regulations NRECA urged the FCC to reconsider include the duplicative HUBB and BDC filings, annual CPNI certification, the onerous and broadband digital discrimination rules.
