CFC Virtual District Meetings were held during NRECA’s Online Regional Week on October 15 and 16. During the meetings, delegates filled eight CFC board seats and selected seven Nominating Committees. Seven directors are new to the board.

Newly elected board members will be seated during next year’s annual meeting to be held during Forum 2021 in San Antonio, Texas, June 14–16. However, the District 10 director will be seated immediately to fill the remaining term of a vacant position.

District 2 – Manager-Director Position

David Felkel was re-elected to serve a second term on the CFC Board of Directors. Felkel serves as president and CEO of Edisto Electric Cooperative in South Carolina.

District 3 – Director-Director Position

Timothy S. Eldridge was elected to his first term on the CFC Board of Directors. Eldridge serves as a director of Fleming-Mason Energy Cooperative in Kentucky.

District 4 – Manager-Director Position

John Metcalf was elected to his first term on the CFC Board of Directors. Metcalf serves as president and CEO of Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative, Inc. in Ohio.

District 5 – Director-Director Position

Jeff Rehder was elected to his first term on the CFC Board of Directors. Rehder serves as board president of North West Rural Electric Cooperative in Iowa.

District 6 – Manager-Director Position

Jared Echternach was elected to his first term on the CFC Board of Directors. Echternach serves as president and CEO of Beltrami Electric Cooperative in Minnesota.

District 8 – Manager-Director Position

Michael J. Heinen was elected to his first term on the CFC Board of Directors. Heinen serves as general manager of Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative in Louisiana.

District 9 – Director-Director Position

Brent R. McRae was elected to his first term on the CFC Board of Directors. McRae serves as a director of McCone Electric Co-op., Inc. in Montana.

District 10 – Manager-Director Position

Kendall J. Montgomery was elected to fill the remaining term of a vacant position. Montgomery serves as general manager and CEO of Fort Belknap Electric Cooperative in Texas.


CFC CEO Sheldon Petersen offered his congratulations to David and the seven new directors. “We would like to thank all of the candidates for their interest, effort and continuing commitment to the future of CFC,” he added.
