Bulletin 1728F-700 - Wood Poles, Stubs & Anchor Logs
This bulletin describes the minimum acceptable quality of wood poles, stubs, and anchor logs permitted to be purchased by or for REA borrowers and the plans of procurement under which they may be purchased.

Bulletin 1728H-701 - Wood Crossarms (Solid & Laminated), Transmission Timbers 
This bulletin describes the minimum acceptable quality of wood cross-arm permitted to be purchased by or for REA borrowers and the plans of procurement under which they may be purchased.

Bulletin 1728H-702 - Quality Control & Inspection of Timber Products
This bulletin describes the responsibilities and procedures pertaining to quality control by the producers and responsibilities for inspection of timber products produced in accordance with REA timber specifications.

American Wood Protection Association
The American Wood Protection Association is the recognized standards-writing body for the entire wood preservation industry. Copies of the current AWPA specifications can be ordered from this site.

Timber Products Inspection
Timber Products Inspection is the largest wood inspection company in North America and the primary contractor for NRECA's WQC program. Information on the various inspection services offered and contact names for speaking with TP about the WQC program are located here.

North American Wood Pole Council
The North American Wood Pole Council site (WoodPoles.org) contains the largest accumulation of articles on the production, use, disposal and characteristics of wood poles and cross-arms available.

The RUS site contains all of the organization's current wood product bulletins about poles, cross-arm, quality control and more, and also contains information about proposed specification changes for these bulletins.
