​​​More than 100 rural electric cooperatives serve more than 100 military facilities across the country. Each relationship unique and many cooperatives go beyond providing electricity service (commodity contracts) to a DoD facility, including holding utility privatization (UP) contracts where a cooperative owns, oper​​ates, and maintains the distribution grid within an installation. Under each scenario, engagement between the cooperative and the military is critical to ensuring the needs of national defense and response.
