​​ The recent solar eclipse generated excitement across the country, but what impact did it have on our electricity generation systems? Cooperatives in the path of the eclipse experienced dramatic decline in solar production, to nearly 100 percent in some cases. This even provided a novel opportunity to test system operations under controlled circumstances involving solar outages. This new advisory reviews the impacts of the eclipse and how cooperatives responded to ensure continued service to their member-consumers.
