Overview

June 11, 2019

The Rural Energy Savings Program (RESP) provides electric co-ops with
zero-percent loans to launch energy efficiency financing programs for their members. It is administered by the USDA’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) through the 2014 Farm Bill. This is an excellent opportunity to help rural families and businesses save money and energy. Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

This webinar covered:

  • What the RESP program is and how it benefits electric co-ops and consumer-members
  • How the application process works for interested co-ops
  • How the environment review process works versus a traditional loan application process
  • How other electric co-ops have employed energy efficiency programs under RESP
