Overview

March 26, 2019

The safety and protection of workers is the top priority for managers at electric cooperatives. Prioritizing safety means stay up-to-date on regulations requiring training and evaluation of employees operating equipment. OSHA recently updated the agency's standard for cranes and derricks in construction to ensure the competency of crane operators through training, certification and evaluation. OSHA is also updating a provision that required different levels of certification based on the lifting capacity of equipment.

This webinar covered how to:

  • Apply the training requirements of OSHA's cranes and derricks standard
  • Understand and articulate where the digger derrick exemption applies
  • Plan for training if required based on understanding who is offering training, where and at what cost
