Overview

June 25, 2015

Solar power represents both a major opportunity and a challenge for our industry, and deciding how to structure solar programs that will benefit your co-op and your membership can be daunting.

To help you plan your approach to incorporating solar into your business mix, NRECA is offering a series of solar-focused webinars. In the first session, Dean Moretton, president of Adaptive MicroGrids, will discuss findings from a survey conducted among more than 120 electric co-ops that have or are implementing demonstration and community solar programs across the country. Join us to hear about solar programs and policies co-ops have chosen, why they made the choices they did, where you can find useful solar software tools, and how to use this information to begin implementing your own effective solar projects.

Topics included:

  • Solar program nation-wide co-op survey results
  • Community Solar

  • Overview of SUNDA project and web portal

Additional webinars in this series will feature co-ops' in depth experiences with community solar programs and demonstrate best practices for communicating with yourmembers about solar projects.

The Solar Utility Network Deployment (SUNDA) project seeks to develop protocols and best practices for co-op solar programs. Learn more about the SUNDA project on our the NRECA website.
