Overview

Many NRECA members recently received a letter alleging their website violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and similar acts. To assist its members and their attorneys in analyzing and addressing the letter, NRECA retained outside legal counsel experienced in this area. With outside counsel’s assistance, NRECA prepared and distributed a memorandum addressing legal issues raised in the letter.

To further assist NRECA members and their attorneys, the Electric Cooperative Bar Association (“ECBA”) sponsored a free Ask the Expert webinar. This webinar supplemented the memorandum and provided an opportunity to ask questions of NRECA’s outside legal counsel and others.
