Overview

June 9, 2016

More and more, communicators are expected to be visual storytellers. The basic building block of visual storytelling is the compelling, well-composed image, and in this Co-op CLASS webinar, NRECA Associate Multimedia Producer Denny Gainer discusses the core principles that will help you capture those images.

Denny joined NRECA in December 2015 after a distinguished career as a photojournalist. Denny was the first photo editor hired at usatoday.com in 2000, setting standards and teaching others visual and technical skills.

He has photographed and produced multimedia coverage for political conventions, the Beijing and Vancouver Olympics and breaking news events. He has taught multimedia journalism at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism and George Washington University, and serves as a judge for the Emmy Awards in their News and Documentary division.
