Overview

On Thursday, August 11, 2016, NRECA hosted a webinar about market developments in the West. Speakers provided information and answered questions about topics including the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) expansion, the Mountain West Transmission Group (MWTG), and other evolving Western market initiatives.

They also discussed how the CAISO Energy Imbalance Market works and described the roles and responsibilities of the key players in the EIM and some of the business processes.

Furthermore, they discussed initiatives underway such as the MWTG, a diverse group of utilities including co-ops, public power and IOUs, that is considering the potential net benefits of implementing a common transmission tariff across a multi-state footprint.

This webinar was designed to:
  • Answer your questions about EIM and Western market developments generally.
