To help ensure that board leaders develop the knowledge and skills required to meet the challenges of today’s increasingly complex utility marketplace, NRECA offers a variety courses at Summer School for Directors. This five-day program will be offered online this year, with an option to choose among Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) courses or focus on the Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate (CCD) course credentials. The online program offers co-op directors:
o The essential knowledge and skills necessary to succeed on the board.
o The opportunity to advance beyond the CCD level toward the Board Leadership Certificate (BLC).
o Earn continuing education credits that can be applied toward earning or maintaining their Director Gold credential.
New this year is the CCD Seminar. The CCD Seminar is a unique opportunity to complete the five required courses to achieve NRECA’s Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate in a week-long online format. The content from all five courses will be covered through lecture, group discussions, case studies, and independent work. The CCD Seminar is ideal for Directors who would like to complete their CCD in an online format, or for those who have never taken a CCD course.
Attendees may choose from a number of BLC courses or choose to attend the CCD Seminar as part of their Summer School registration.
The CCD Seminar will be held daily Monday-Friday 10 a .m. - 2 p.m. You must attend all five courses to receive the CCD certificate. Learn more by accessing the CCD Seminar_FAQs2021.pdf.
The BLC courses will be offered over two days (Monday-Tuesday, Wednesday-Thursday). There will be a series of courses early in the day 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., and in the afternoon 3-6 p.m. You must attend both days of the course to receive credit.
